Multiculturalism and Muslim Leaderships in the UK: New Labour and After

Thursday 7th July, 2011

University of Bristol

This event aims at creating a space where academics working on Islam in Britain can come together with representatives of Muslim organisations to reflect on how Muslim leaderships in Britain have developed during the last decade. While MBRN is interested to involve Muslim practitioners in its activity more regularly, this forthcoming event in Bristol is jointly organised with the UK 'EurIslam' project team with a view to disseminating European funded research on Muslim leaders and organisations. Feedback from organisations on the research, on MBRN and on the Muslims in Britain research scene more generally will be especially valuable. Hopefully the topic, speakers and wider range of participants will make for a successful meeting!

To register, contact Marta Bolognani and send a completed application form and a cheque for £15 (students £10) to Dr Marta Bolognani, SPAIS, University of Bristol, 4 Priory Road, Bristol BS8 1TY.

Deadline for registrations: 27th June 2011.
